The world is a small place. Within any community, you will likely run into the same people at multiple surprising points in your life. I first met the wonderful Laura Campello during a visit to the NIH/NEI a couple years ago, and was surprised to see her here in Pittsburgh as a director of retinal gene therapy at Avista Therapeutics. Every day the Ophthalmology program here at Pitt surprises me more and more with how much is going on here in terms of the work from the faculty and the relationships we are building here to understand vision and push vision therapies.
