I got away for some quiet time in the desert down in Capitol Reef National Park and then to meet up with friends and colleagues for a guided tour around the Cathedral Valley Loop, something I’ve never done despite years of visiting this part of the world. If you are in the area and want to see amazing country, do check out Western Whiptail Adventures… Trust me. They are good.
Hilari and I loved coming down here as this part of the world is just staggeringly beautiful and always full of surprises. For instance, I saw for the first time down here stegosaurus bones, and sauropod bones (did you know dinosaur bones are radioactive?), and a whole mound of pure selenite that goes down in a cone, at least 400 feet below the surface.
We got to visit and dine with dear friends at Etta Place Cidery, got to reconnect with our friend Melinda, and meet wonderful new people. All in, it was a good healing trip, even if emotionally painful without the love of my life.
