We spent a few days talking science with friends and collaborators in Obergurgl, Austria at the Optic Nerve Meeting. Being able to sit down in person with people with whom you are collaborating with in far corners of the world is the best way to move science forward. So much happens via email, and video conferencing, but there is no substitute for sitting down over a shared meal and hammering out the hard aspects of the science.
My thanks to Cindy Ash for the photo of me on the mountain in the snow, and to Ben Sivyer and Katharina Bell for the photos of me in the meeting.
