The flight out from Valencia started out great with a lunar eclipse for us to view from the airplane on our way to Amsterdam. Amsterdam was its usual thing, a nice airport to transit through. The United States apparently has a completely bizarre policy on ebola… American citizens traveling from infected areas are put on big ‘ole airliners, and transported to a few specific, HUGE airports for *screening*. The CDC used to have a policy of screening people before they entered large transit areas, but this is where we are at with this administration. Complete incompetence.
Once we got to Atlanta, our travel plans started to go awry as weather meant massive flight backups with planes stacked up on taxiways all around the airport. Even worse, trying to get out, we could not get a flight crew to staff the flight and we were delayed by almost 4 hours in getting into PIT which made for a very late night indeed.
